The Alzheimer’s Association is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the third annual State Dementia Services Coordinator (DSC) Summit in Washington, D.C. November 7-8, 2024.

The State DSC Summit is the ideal learning and networking experience for state agency officials tasked with developing, supporting, and implementing dementia-specific policies across state agencies. The Summit will bring together officials who hold a position focusing specifically on individuals living with dementia and their families. This gathering is an important opportunity for agency officials dedicated to serving the dementia population in their states, highlighting challenges and proven solutions for addressing the needs of a distinct and growing constituency; and also serves as a forum for officials to ask questions, network, and share experiences with their peers in other states.

The two-day summit is by direct invitation, with invitations being extended to state officials with job descriptions that meet an established criteria based on the scope of work of the position they hold within their state government. Due to current budget and space constraints, only one agency official is invited from a state. Invitations are not transferable within a state agency without prior approval from the Alzheimer’s Association. If a state has more than one dementia-specific staff position and would like to send a second staff member to participate in the Summit at the expense of the state, if space is available it is possible that this request may be accommodated.

This event is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Alzheimer’s Association will directly support travel and lodging costs for invited state officials, where allowable. Other travel-related expenses, including ground transportation and meals, may be reimbursable by the Association in accordance with federal GSA per diem rates. State agency staff who request travel assistance are responsible for seeking any internal approvals needed within their agencies and in accordance with state laws and requirements. Note – the Alzheimer's Association may be a registered lobbyist employer in your state.
